Serial Podcast Deep Creek Garners Agency Backing

Genki Media is excited to announce that its co-produced serial podcast series, Deep Creek has been picked-up by United Talent Agency (UTA) audio division. The series is executive produced by Crystal City Entertainment and currently in development being penned by writer P.G. Cuschieri.

Backstory

In 2021, film producer Ari Pinchot from Crystal City Entertainment approached Genki Media with an offer to co-produce one of their one going film and television projects. After reviewing the list of potential projects in pre-production, we decided to jump into Deep Creek, based on the real life story of the CIA’s secretive MKUltra project, experimenting with LSD in the 1950s. Over the past years, the project has continued to evolve, gaining representation from United Talent Agency and turned from a serial TV drama into a serial podcast. The series is still in production and set to be released by early 2025.

The Pitch

While the podcast series “Deep Creek” promises to be a bizarre psychological thriller, rooted in a very dark chapter of Americana, thematically, the story will be much bigger. At its very core, “Deep Creek” is a story about the loss of innocence. Because it is a story about the patriarch of a model American family during what was arguably the country’s zenith. At the point when the story takes place, the USA brand could not have been any stronger. American might had literally freed Europe. American industry had produced the automobile. American creativity had given the world Hollywood. America was the good guy.

What happened to Frank Olson and countless others, represented a shock to the conscience of American culture and was a betrayal of the trust the country had earned with the populace. Consequently, the MK-Ultra operation didn’t just destroy the Olson family, it was partly responsible for destroying the American nuclear family also. Sadly, the episode still haunts us all.
