The ArtJamz Story
ArtJamz, a trailblazing for-profit initiative of Genki Media LLC, made its impactful debut in June 2010. As a brainchild of Michael M. Clements, founder of Genki Media, ArtJamz started as a unique concept blending social interaction with artistic creativity. It was initially conceived as a mobile pop-up painting party, an idea that quickly caught the public’s imagination. This success led to the establishment of the first permanent ArtJamz Dupont Studio.
By 2020, ArtJamz had expanded its footprint to three physical locations, in addition to a mobile studio catering to corporate events and group activities. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges, resulting in the closure of all physical studios. Adapting swiftly, Clements reinvented the ArtJamz business model. He introduced the ArtJamz ArtBox – a comprehensive art kit delivered to customers’ homes – and launched online art classes. This strategic pivot not only helped ArtJamz survive the crisis but also enabled it to thrive as an international brand, hosting virtual art events for clients worldwide.
In the post-pandemic era, ArtJamz experienced a significant revival, expanding into several cities across the United States. Throughout its evolution, Genki Media maintained complete control over the ArtJamz intellectual property and trademarks, with strategic decisions emanating from the CEO’s office.
By 2023, Genki Media had successfully divested its interest in ArtJamz. The venture, having generated over USD 5 million in revenue, left an indelible mark by spreading the joy of creativity to hundreds of thousands of people globally. This case study exemplifies how innovative thinking, adaptability, and strategic management can lead a business to flourish, even in the face of unprecedented challenges.
ArtJamz started with a mission to make the world a more creative place.
Over a 12 year period it helped hundreds of thousands of individuals, corporate groups, kids and families tap into the joy of painting.
