Under his energetic leadership, Capitol File was rejuvenated, reclaiming its position as a major force in the competitive media landscape of Washington DC.

Prior to his tenure at Capitol File, Michael M. Clements served as the executive editor of Washington Life magazine for seven years. He played a pivotal role in transforming the publication into a Washington institution, showcasing the city’s influential figures from politics, society, business, and philanthropy. Producing ten issues annually, Clements added style and modernity to what was once a traditional society magazine. He was instrumental in overhauling Washingtonlife.com, launching Washington Life TV, and actively represented the magazine at various city events, balls, and galas. By the end of his term, Clements had successfully positioned Washington Life magazine as the premier lifestyle publication for the nation’s capital region.

Under the banner of Genki Media Clements has also published numerous freelance bylines in publications such as The China Daily, Hong Kong magazine, Modern Luxury and District Fray.
