The Loree Grand has had a strong connection to the arts since it opened, particularly

with its offering of subsidized live/work space for artists. I’m tremendously excited to be christening the building with three nights of ArtJamz creative energy,” says ArtJamz founder and Genki Media CEO Michael M. Clements.

For $60, the same price as going out, twenty-five participants (“ArtJammers”) get to paint the night away and create their own work of art. Each participant has access to paint brushes, acrylic paints and is given a blank canvas, which they get to paint and keep. ArtJammers have four hours to paint, while being entertained by an ArtJamz host, listening to music, drinking, eating, and getting a chance to mix and mingle with their fellow ArtJammers.

“If you go out, you have the same choices: dinner, drinks at a bar or bottle service at a nightclub. If you want to ‘get artsy,’ you can see a play, a band, or go to an art opening; but you are always on the outside looking in. I want to get people involved. That’s why ArtJamz breaks down the fourth wall of going out and lets people unleash their inner artist and get their hands dirty.”

The launch of ArtJamz is being hosted by The Loree Grand at Union Place, Bozzuto Group and Genki Media LLC. It will take place for three nights, September Wednesday 15th, Thursday16th, and Friday 17th.

The Loree Grand at Union Place is the District’s new apartment address where the NoMa neighborhood (North of Massachusetts Avenue) meets the 21st century, and where the past keeps pace with the future. Named in honor of longtime local resident and community activist Mrs. Loree Murray, it’s the place to live where work and play are next door neighbors, and the promise of the “new DC” comes home to a neighborhood where, for so many generations past, the city’s pulse was felt the strongest.

An ArtJammer and his masterpiece!
